Aluminum chloride is a commonly used powerful Lewis acid finding widespread application in the chemical industry.

Anhydrous aluminium chloride is the principal catalyst used in the Friedel-Crafts reaction, both acylations and alkylations.

Aluminium chloride anhydrous manufactured by reacting gaseous chlorine with molten Aluminium in specialized designed reactor.

This product is very sensitive to moisture. Exposure to even atmospheric moisture (humidity) can bring down the purity & release of Hydrogen Chloride fumes.

Major Use & Application

  • Use as Catalyst - Used as a catalyst in the processing of pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, polymers, flavors and fragrances.
  • Use as Major Ingredient - Use as reactant in the production of chlorinated alkyls like ethyl aluminum dichloride and ethyl aluminum sesquichloride.
  • Use as Intermediate - It is used in the production of chemical intermediates such as ethyl-benzene, dyes, and pigments and in the petrochemical industry in the production of hydrocarbon resins.
  • Manufacturing of Inorganic product - Such as titanium dioxide and fumed alumina.
  • Electrolytic production of Aluminium
  • Used in Aromatic Chemicals, Pesticides & Pharmaceuticals
